In accordance with AWWU Tariff 14.0, water meter installation is mandatory for all residential structures with four or more units, as well as for all commercial buildings. Metering is optional for duplexes and triplexes. Prior approval from an AWWU Field Service supervisor is required for the installation of irrigation meters.

All meters supplied by AWWU remain the exclusive property of the Utility and must not be disposed of under any circumstances. Meters that are no longer in use must be promptly returned to AWWU Customer Service. In cases of damage, loss, or theft, whether due to neglect or other reasons, the responsible party will be liable for the replacement cost of the meter.
