Gary Post, Junior Administrative Officer for the Treatment Division since 1999, is the AWWU Employee of the Year 2008.

Over the past year, Gary has provided leadership on three key initiatives. He worked with the Finance Division to revise Treatment’s chart of accounts and developed new budget tracking tools that have improved the Division’s ability to develop, track and meet budgets. He proactively implemented and maintained Treatment’s new web site. He set up an operator certification tracking system and organized a wide variety of training opportunities such as web casts, the high tech operator program and water and wastewater treatment training. These projects are just a few examples of what Gary contributes to the Treatment Division, but they do not fully capture all that Gary adds to AWWU.

Gary provides leadership on all administrative matters within the Treatment Division. He is the person everyone looks to for answers on how to get things done. Gary embraces every new initiative with a positive attitude and works diligently to implement change.

All projects, no matter the size, benefit from Gary’s attention to detail. He alone has saved AWWU thousands of dollars over the last year by carefully scrutinizing invoices and budgets. There is no bureaucratic snarl that Gary cannot untangle with his sound administrative skills and his brilliant diplomatic talents.

Gary is truly the glue that holds the Treatment Division together. For that, he is our Employee of the Year for 2008.
