Calvin (Butch) West

Semi-retired with 40 years as a practicing engineer with US Army Corps of Engineers; Greater Anchorage Area Borough (GAAB); and thirty years managing consulting engineering organizations in Anchorage. His positions as Water Pollution Control Engineer and Public Works Director with GAAB, involved development of the wastewater utility for the GAAB, which later merged with the City of Anchorage to form AWWU after unification between the City and GAAB.

As a consultant, Butch has been involved with major expansion for water and wastewater systems in Nome, Kotzebue, Juneau and Anchorage's Eklutna Water Project. His experience also includes rate analysis and recommendations regarding best management practices for numerous utilities, statewide, as well as principal author for AWWU's proposal to the US Government for privatization of Elmendorf's water and wastewater systems.
