Hillside residents have a strong sense of community, take pride in their homes and properties, and want to be involved in decisions that impact them. Perceived impacts to private property and changes to property values are important issues for the community.
In December 2007, AWWU established an Advisory Group of local representatives to help guide the decision-making process. Two open houses were held on April 30, 2008 and November 13, 2008 to provide updates on the advisory group's recommendations and following the completion of the projects' draft design study reports.
An open house to review final construction plans for the 1 million gallon Goldenview Reservoir next to the existing reservoir in Prominence Point Subdivision was held at Goldenview Middle School on May 19, 2009.
"Neighbor's Meetings" were held on March 24 & 26, 2009 to present the new final design of the Hillside Water Transmission Main Project.
Pre-construction open houses were held on August 11, 2009 and April 27, 2010 prior to the start of each construction season for the Hillside Water Transmission Main along Elmore between Abbott Road and the South Fork of Little Campbell Creek.
Project team members made--and will continue to make--presentations to community councils within the projects areas, and project-specific information will be sent to residents as the projects continue. If you are interested in arranging a presentation for your council or organization, or wish to be added to the project mailing list, please contact a member of the project team. Contact Us
